Bill brings significant experience in the the consumer construction and housing industry from roles ranging from project engineer to entrepreneur to corporate executive. He is a founding member of both The Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing and The Roofing Alliance for Progress that focus on sustainable solar roofing guidelines, training and construction integration across North America.
Bill most recently served as President and CEO of GAF Materials Corporation—one of the largest building products companies in North America. Previously, he held various senior management positions at Berger Building Products and Atlantic Richfield. Prior to these positions, Bill spent nine years in the U.S. Navy and as an officer in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps focused on construction management, public works and energy conservation programs. In the mid-2000s, Bill served as SVP for Habitat for Humanity International and co-led “Operation Home Delivery” that helped volunteers build over 1,000 new homes in the 18 months following Katrina and Rita along the ravaged Gulf Coast.
Bill is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a BS in Marine Engineering and of MIT with a MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering. In addition, he received his MBA from the University of Chicago in Marketing and Finance. Bill is also the Co-Founder of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Philadelphia, ans is a member of ASCE, SAME and SIGMA Xi.
